CBR YouthConnect offers more than 200 applied learning opportunities, programs and non-traditional therapies each one designed to help youth enhance their skills, attitudes and relations with others. CBRYC treatment programs and services are continually assessed and refined to ensure that they reflect the latest innovations based upon mental health research and findings.

EXCITING NEWS!!!

CBRYC just signed a contract to open the first PRTF (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility) food services program in the nation beginning immediately, called "The Catering Connection".

In conjunction with the catering business, a class called "Principles of Food Technology and Customer Service" will be taught by a certified instructor beginning this fall school semester.

This program has received endorsement from a national/international based food purveyor, and we are seeking endorsement from several local colleges.

We purchased a professional colleague's cookbook, and dream of hosting her sometime next school year to hold a training workshop for the kids in the class.

We also have several brand-name restaurants coming to campus to conduct mini-training workshops in customer service in the food industry.

The national endemic of childhood obesity has become an important mental health focus. Therefore, our program of education in healthy eating, nutrition, etc. is right in line with the national health forum.

Upon completion the kids get an endorsed certificate of completion and school credit, too.

Finally, our first catering event has been signed up for 150 people!

Next, beginning this fall we have redesigned our Vocational Technologies course and curriculum to now offer "Cottage Industry" services including: custom-built dog and cat houses, lawn sheds, custom signs, and custom small water crafts. In addition, the students will receive hands-on experience in basic carpentry, plumbing, electricity, masonry, dry wall, framing, and small engine repair.

This program is also under consideration for national endorsement. The students who successfully complete this class will receive an endorsed certificate of completion and a school credit, as well.

Our Medical Director/Psychiatrist Dr. Jonathan Hardy, MD, just received the highest recognition of distinction at the American Psychiatric Association in May. Dr. Hardy is recognized nationally and internationally as a foremost authority in child and adolescent psychopharmacology and mental health. His expert testimony is sought after nationwide. Our youth benefit so much from his expertise and we are pleased to report that 90% of the youth leave our care using fewer medications than upon admission.

We have updated our program and services to offer what we feel will be real life practical skills to the youth that are here at CBRYC. We feel giving them hands-on practical experience is a great way of giving them employable skills in preparing for return to their homes, families, and communities.
